GCC Updates Voltage Frequencies for Different Gulf Countries
At its meeting on 9-10 October 2022, the Gulf Organisation for Standardisation (GSO) approved an amendment to the Gulf Technical Code for Low Voltage Electrical Equipment and Apparatus TC-225310-01, which replaces the table on voltage, frequency, type and shape of plugs and sockets under point 2e of Annex (1) of the Gulf Technical Code BD-142004-01. The amendment provides for technical measures to ensure the prevention of hazards arising from electrical equipment.
The latest voltages and frequencies, as well as the types and shapes of plugs and sockets in the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) Member States and Yemen must be taken into account.
The amendment was published on the website of the Gulf Organisation for Standardisation (GSO) on 30 October 2022 and entered into force on the same date. The countries to which this standard applies are United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Bahrain, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sultanate of Oman, State of Qatar, State of Kuwait, Republic of Yemen.
